BREAST REDUCTION: Reducing the volume and size of the breasts is one of Dr. Tiller's most commonly performed procedures. And this group of patients is one of Dr. Tiller's most happy. Breast reduction requires that a woman decides that she is willing to exchange scars on the breasts with breasts that are smaller and more comfortable and with breasts that are more symmetric and attractive. Although modest reduction in breast size can be attained with liposuction techniques most women require the removal of skin as well as underlying fatty/breast tissues to achieve the best result. This requires a surgery in which the patient is left with a smaller, more symmetric, more attractive breast but one with a fine scar around the areola, down the center of the breast to the crease, and up the crease to a limited length (the "anchor" or "upside-down T" scar). This procedure takes approximately two to three hours under general anesthesia. Afterwards, the patient is asked to remain on limited activities for one week and then gradually progressing to full and normal activities within two to three weeks.

BREAST LIFT: Breasts that have been made to appear hanging, loose, and "empty" by weight loss, pregnancy, or the forces of time can be made more uplifted, tight, and perky by a variety of procedures. Which procedure is best for a particular woman is so individual that only a personal consultation with Dr. Tiller can result in the procedure best for that person. What a woman should first ask herself, however, is "When I place my breasts in a bra, do I like the size or do I want to be bigger?" If the answer is "Yes" then a woman may need a breast augmentation as well as a breast lift. A breast lift alone requires approximately two to three hours under general anesthesia. Placing breast implants at the same time requires only a little more time. After the surgery the pain is usually very minimal with breast lift and a little more with the breast lift and augmentation. Recovery requires that a person have limited activities for at least one week and progressing to full and normal activities within three to four weeks.

Fee: $6,000 includes implants, surgical facility, anesthesia and recovery.
