I developed the abdominal augmentation procedure in 1998. I had consulted with many men who wanted the definition of well-developed abdominal musculature and even requested abdominal implants knowing my reputation for male body implants. Most of these men, however, were best served by my aggressive male lipocontouring technique. And after the lipocontouring procedure most men were very happy with the appearance of their abdominal musculature. Some, however, wanted a more defined appearance. Over the dozens of these procedures I have performed over the years the most significant improvement in the results has been the efforts of Allied Biomedical/Implantech at developing an implant material that is soft enough to be conform to the underlying or overlying muscle so as to give a natural appearance and a natural feel.

Through an incision at the belly button I place six to eight individually contoured, very soft but solid silicone implants overlying the abdominal musculature. This gives the appearance of a very well-developed abdomen and the implants are so soft as to feel natural and to "give" with the body's many bendings during everyday activities and sports activities. This was very important to me as I developed these many body augmentation procedures - to make it not only look good but feel natural. The procedure is the longest of the cosmetic procedures that I perform requiring approximately 4-5 hours. Post-operative pain is well-managed and the good results can be appreciated immediately. For some patients I use a "tummy-tuck" incision to expose the whole abdominal musculature and place each implant and then remove any excess skin the man might have had prior to surgery. As with any prospective patient, this abdominal augmentation surgery procedure requires an individualized consultation.
