The facelift surgery is one of cosmetic surgeries oldest procedures and has, of course, been tremendously refined over the years. Each person requires individual evaluation and men most be considered differently from women in respect to aesthetic considerations, recovery, scar placement, and others. A facelift may be done in conjunction with eyelid surgery, chin augmentation, or nose surgery. The facelift surgery may even be broken into componet procedures such as a necklift or a mid-face lift. All this indicates, therefore, the importance of individual evaluation.

A facelift may take four to five hours under general anesthesia after which a patient awakens with a light head wrap that remains in place for a day or two. After about a week, however, a patient is usually presentable to be seen in public although heavy lifting and exercise is limited for about a month following surgery. Out-of-town patients usually stay on South Beach for a bout five to seven days before feeling comfortable returning home. The fees for facelift surgery varies considerably depending on the extent of the procedure and any ancillary procedures that may be performed.
